Installing a Disto
The Disto must already be installed on the computer and recognized by the operating system before you can configure it in the Mobile Claims software.
Adding a Bluetooth 4.0 Disto to Mobile Claims
In Mobile Claims open Tools > Preferences, selecting the Disto tab.
Choose the correct Disto model and click on Detect DISTO (check Automatically detect DISTO to automatically detect the device in the future.)
**To determine what version of Bluetooth your Disto is using you can always verify on the device or the device manual for the Bluetooth 4.0 logo. Bluetooth 4.0 has been around since 2010 so this would indicate that almost all newer Disto devices will use Bluetooth 4.0 or greater.
Adding an older Disto (pre Bluetooth 4.0 model)
In the Older Models section of the DISTO preference pane, select your model of Disto and click Auto-detect.
(The Disto must be connected – Bluetooth icon solid on display.)
Wait patiently – the computer is scanning up to 100 ports to find the Disto. When found, the COM Port should change from <None> to the port number where the Disto was detected.
Set which dimensions will be defined by Disto
Using the Prefences pane, you may specify the pages on the diagram from which the Disto will be used to caputre the dimension. You can select from:
• Floorplans
• Exterior Elevations
• Roofplans
• Wall Editor
• Stair Editor
• Ceiling Editor
Capturing a measurement with Disto
Clicking on a dimension (in your floorplan, for example) will display the Disto dialog, with instructions on how to pair the Disto, and use the Disto to capture measurements. Following this dialog, clicking on a room's dimensions will automatically search for a Disto measurement to update the dimension.
Possible Errors
If the Disto is not found when you click Auto-detect, you will get the message below.
The best thing to do is to un-pair it from the device and reconnect, then try again.
